Oh Nellie!!

Ann, Ryan's wife and a vet, told us about an adoption event in Point Loma and to my total surprise Ron said he wanted to go check it out! After he said no toPrincess in early January, I thought for sure he was against adopting a puppy for several years. As it turns out, he just really wants a Lab or a Golden Retriever . . . more athletic dogs that he can take running and to the beach.

At the event today, there were several dozen adoption organizations including two Lab Rescues. We met Nellie, a ten-week-old chocolate lab, at one of the booths and we knew that we wanted to move forward.

We submitted an application online and paid the $25 application fee. Soon a volunteer will be contacting us to schedule a home visit. If all goes well maybe we'll be puppy parents by the end of the month, which would be perfect timing for my week of spring break! We may not get Nellie (she got a lot of attention at the adoption event) but they said they have nearly 100 dogs available for adoption right now!
