Sue's Eye View

Rodney was enjoying the morning sunshine but was camera shy today. Each time I ventured onto the patio he flew off. This capture was taken through our bedroom window and was the best I could achieve.

Bingo Update:-This was the last time we saw Bingo some 11 days ago. At that time she was well but with just a small cut on her snout. Since then, and until last night at 11.30pm, we hadn't seen her. Her food was left untouched apart from the slugs (yuck!!!) and both us and our neighbours were fearing the worst.

It was with initial great pleasure when her head appeared at our lounge patio door late last night. However, it quickly became apparent that all was not well. She has lost weight, was dirty and obviously has had some form of accident to her right hind leg. She is holding it up and partially dragging it behind her. She was understandably nervous about approaching us but, after half an hour or so, we managed to get her to eat a whole tin of dog food before she crawled into our bushes.

I have today telephoned the local Wildlife Aid and have made arrangements that, if she returns this evening, to call them. A volunteer will then come out to try and catch her - they have advised us not to attempt this ourselves even though she knows us.

This is a difficult decision for us as we really would prefer no further human intervention. However, if she does have a serious injury, it would be best for her if she were dealt with by professionals who can then make a decision about her future well being.

I'll keep you all posted.
