Dinosaurs

My collection of the dinosaurs made by Invicta Plastics for the Natural History Museum. I took this to add it to a Guardian Witness assignment on 'What do you collect?' but liked it, and them, so much it was a clear choice for today's blip too. I think these are some of the best sculpted and generally excellent model dinosaurs ever, and much better than the current gaudy range at the NHM which are more like toys than models. Part of my deep attachment, no doubt, comes from the fact that I won most of these at about the age of seven or eight, in a competition in the Stamford Mercury. I didn't know I'd won until the delivery man turned up with a huge box and it stands out in memory vividly as one of the most exciting things in my life at that point.
