Cabinet Makers Arms

I walk past this old building with the front facade right built up to the footpath ( which is very unusual here) and wondered how old it might be and what it was built for.

Then the other day I saw this sign. It was a bit hard getting a shot with the sun behind it so this is what I came up with.
