Strange day

Well...we're just over 20 miles from Heathrow, where apparently there's been extensive disruption thanks to the tail end of the hurricane. And indeed, it was quite blowy and rainy first thing this morning.

But through the day, the weather's been amazingly fickle. Sometimes it's been sunny, and mild enough to go out in a shirt. At other times, the wind's been whipping the branches of the trees, and there's been an almost wintry chill to the air. We've had striking skies of ominous, angry looking grey-to-almost-black clouds...and at other times it's been mainly clear blue with a few puffy white clouds drifting by!

I took this while I was out early this afternoon - bright and sunny, but a distinct chill to it and the wind beginning to rise again...
