Remembering

Margaret's funeral was lovely. The minister managed to capture the essence of her character, her grandson played the piano at the opening and there was a lot of laughter. She was a very resilient lady who, if someone was feeling sorry for themself, would say, "Give yourself a shak' and get on with it". Advice she followed to the letter.

She was a dedicated jam maker and a couple of weeks before her death Margaret was out picking berries.

Ben enjoyed meeting members of the family whom he only usually sees at weddings or funerals - a sad indictment of today's society. Wish we were all nearer - my cousins are just so mad and wonderful.

Ben and I visited Mum and Dad's grave. I really should have taken something floral but Mum hated the idea of flowers wilting and dying without giving pleasure to the owner.
