October Word Challenge: Wood

This is an oak granddaughter's clock--much smaller than the full-size grandfather and grandmother versions. We purchased this antique many years ago at a shop in Illinois that specialized in clocks of all sorts. We don't rely on it as a timepiece because it must be hand wound, and we never remember to do that. Since it has a beautiful oak case, I thought it could qualify for today's word challenge organized by chantler.
