Between fen and mountains

Light through autumn leaves

I went up to the Mairie in the morning to give them a cheque for €1500. This is to secure matched funding from the Fondation Patrimoine for the new church ceiling. I then returned a soldering iron to a friend that I had borrowed to repair a clock hand and stopped for coffee. In the afternoon I was the only one who turned up for French conversation so Nicole and I just spent the couple of pleasant hours chatting about this and that. It has been hot and sunny again and shows no sign of letting up yet. This weather is exceptional at this time of the year even in the south.
