Looking for adventure... in Chiang Mai

Outside Chiang Mai train station, I joined forces with a fellow traveller to get a taxi together to save money. We ended up walking in to the centre. It was very hot, especially carrying my bags, but it meant we got to see some of the city. For some reason I had an image in my head of Chiang Mai being a lot smaller and simpler.

I rented a motorbike through my apartment and after lunch we headed for the mountains. Once we were out of the city, the roads became nearly empty. It was so great being back on a bike, I feel so free and able to explore. I've missed it in the 2.5 years since Koh Lanta.
