Disappointment

The day started off promisingly enough, dry and not too cold. But disappointment soon set in with the arrival of sleet and strong winds, so plans to drive down the coast dissolved in an instant. There seemed nothing left to do but relax and read the Sunday papers.

However cabin fever set in after lunch and when the rain stopped I went for a long wander through the Meadows and down to the canal.
The day miraculously improved and I swear the sun was trying to come out.

I was amazed at how many huge potholes graced nearly all the roads with the attendant grit and bottoming strewn around. I hope the roads department arrive soon and fill them in before one or two cyclists are lost in their depths.

The day had degenerated again with the castle's phone line dead and the internet caput. I have had to rely on daughter no 1's good nature and use her wireless connection.
It's shocking how used one becomes to having full internet access 24/7. I hope BT get their act together tomorrow.

The blip is of a disused brewery alongside the canal
