Brilliant red flower

This cactus Lobivia sylvestris (Chamaecereus sylvestris) looks pretty ordinary, but it produces magnificent flowers. I used to grow the species years ago, but it never flowered. So acquiring this specimen from a friend recently, I was thrilled to see the flower. Usually I see the buds coming, but somehow I hadn't been watching this one, so it was a great surprise!
