In The Wee Small Hours Of The Morning....

... Auld Lang Syne begins to play over the loud speakers of this Cairo Airport Hotel. I've travelled twelve miles from our home in Cairo in twelve hours on my way back to Barcelona and despite being actually on an already delayed plane (due to technical problems) we all had to disembark after a further two hours of just sitting there on the tarmac.

I had fallen asleep and, for a moment, thought we had landed in Rome, but in fact we had not even left Cairo. So we are all in a local hotel with rooms and dinner provided for the few hours until we head back for the 3:30 am departure on an even bigger plane being especially brought in to cope with the two passenger loads.

I've had to cancel four meetings which is a bit of a bugger..ah well, until tomorrow!
