An Artist's Life

Loaves for winter...

On a bench high above the valley floor runs the Big Ditch. It was engineered and built by Marcus Daly to irrigate the sloping apple orchards on the east side of the valley. The west side was used for timber for the mines. The cottonwood and poplar trees along the ditch are turning yellow more slowly than those below. The cliffs of Blodgett Canyon loom across the valley...a rock-climber's paradise.
