Through the Roman Wall

I went on a weekend visit to my son and daughter in law in St. Albans. We spent the day on a tour of the town. I loved the beautiful architecture in a great variety of ages and styles.

We also saw the Roman remains including a wonderfully well preserved mosaic floor and hypercaust. This shot was taken of part of the Roman wall. It was was part of the defensive wall around the Roman town of Verulanium, now St. Albans.
