Jacob Rams

The Jacob sheep are on the rare breeds threatened status list. They are piebald and multi horned, they can have up to six horns but more commonly have four, as you can see one of these has two the other four. The most common colour is black and white. The Jacob are kept as pets or ornamental animals, they have also been used as guard animals to protect farm property and implements from theft or vandalism and also to defend livestock against predators.
I saw these two near to where my brother lives, they seemed so laid back and posed nicely for the camera, though I'm not sure I would want to tangle with those horns!
