Autumnal shades near Nymans

North of the main house at Nymans there is a walk lined with old limes and the views to the north are of the ridge that is on the other side of the valley. This ridge has Highbeeches Gardens on it and the Balcombe Water Tower. The many different trees and their shades add a lot of interest to the view with different textures and subtle colours.

Autumn colour is there but many places it is still quite green. Much of the colour comes from introduced trees in the gardens, many of which hail from Asia and North America - the latter continent being the place par excellence for autumn colour, particularly from the Maple family.
