Fenway

Future holidays will have to go some to beat this day.

We headed out to the area around MIT first thing, took us a while but managed to locate Friendly Toast, which had been recommended for brunch. The waffles didn't let us down. We checked out the MIT museum and the area was summed up for me as we glanced into a back lot to see two young guys unloading full size robot from the back of a van.

Jumped on the T up to Harvard Square, great fun wandering around amongst new students and proud parents. We grabbed lunch from a food truck and sat in Harvard Yard pretending to be smart.

Stretched our legs in the sun walking along the Charles River, with the leaves just changing on the trees and the boats racing up and down the water it was pretty perfect.

Then Fenway. Burgers and beers crammed into a Lansdowne Street bar with a hundred other fans. The complete thrill of getting into the oldest and most loved baseball park in America. The Yankees and Red Sox fighting out a meaningless end of season game that felt everything but for the fans. Good to see and hear a proper sporting rivalry in the States. We sat in our wooden seats a bit awe struck. Then in full voice for 'Take me Out the Ballgame' and 'Sweet Caroline'. Shame the Sox didn't play well but that's life in Red Sox Nation.

Couldn't choose a blip but had to go for Fenway, felt like going to a church for ballplayers.
