Enchanted Forest
Grandad's birthday today, we gave him his cards and presents over breakfast then had to get everything packed up for leaving the cottage. We were planning to go back to Lindisfarne but the tide times weren't suitable. So instead we drove the short distance to Ford and explored the village. Such a beautiful place and at its glorious best in all its autumnal finery. Orla and Conor loved playing in the leaves and picking up twigs and cones, although Orla wasn't overly enamoured by Conor dropping things down her wellies! Conor had great fun sitting in this little coppice of trees pretending to play the drums with Grandad.
We had lunch in the estate house tea room - very pretty and quirky and great value food. Then it was time to say our goodbyes and head home. The end of another lovely holiday!
The photo shows Conor playing the tree drums with Grandad. Here's a video.
Here's a video of Conor playing with Grandma.
