Barry John in the making
They may have cracked the "mould of gold" when they made Barry John at the fly-half centre in Wales but this wee man is my effort at the next generation of fly-halfs.
James, now 6, is thoroughly enjoying his introduction to mini-rugby, and gives me an excuse to get up early on a Sunday morning. The lads and girls love the training and the competition with other clubs. They are making friends who will be there with them right through their teens and into the future. Friends for life.
In the background is Ryan. In the past 6 weeks he has come out of his shell and no longer clings to James, his confidence is blooming. All the children seem to have a permanent disco beat in their head, dancing about when not playing.
Jamesism.
Grandpa trying to teach the intricacies of the drop kick.
James. "Come on big boy, show me what you've got!!!" Where do they get it from?
