Mike's Hands

We went to the Lynden Antique and Craft Show today. Have to admit a good half of it did not float my boat at all. There was a lot of "country" stuff, a la chintz and bright blaring fabrics. Yuck! But there were a few highlights that made the visit to the Fairgrounds worthwhile. One of these highlights was Mike. He is a wood carver and he spent a good fifteen minutes with us describing what he does. The spoon on top is a Welch wedding spoon carved in a Celtic knot. Really nice. Below that is another one blocked out but not carved yet. He is showing us how he did it. Really fine work and very interesting. To see more detail, look large.
