Balloon man

Street fair today - to mark the re-opening of the road after 15 months of tram works. Only the road wasn't open - more waterworks to do apparently. However, it did mean that the fair could actually happen in the street at least. It was busy enough and seemed to be successfully drumming up appetite for 'Oxjam' a great local community annual music fest with all proceeds to Oxfam. Unfortunately we couldn't go, as we had another gig to attend tonight - the choir's 20th anniversary concert. 20 years?! All of us moved to tears at some point in the evening - we've been through quite a bit together - births, deaths, marriages, divorces, second goes etc etc. particularly poignant given several offspring have just headed off to University this autumn - those babes we passed around the sopranos and altos every Monday evening so that parents could keep singing.....The programme was a collection of everyone's favourites over that time. Quite lovely.
