Sitting Ducks Exhibition
Needed to go and pick up my scarf from the RSA Gallery Lost Property. I'd left it at the cafe in the Modern Art Gallery, just after discussing the merits of scarf-wearing with Donald. When Donald declared that he'd never worn a scarf in his entire life, I went and did that Luciferic thing of saying 'Yes, but you'd probably just lose it anyway'. Oooh, payback time hit right away. However, I have it back now and have learnt my lesson, again.
Wandered over to take another look in at the John Byrne paintings. A very talented painter.
I went to a talk quite a few years ago in Nairn where there was an interview type interaction with him and I can't remember who was the interviewee. I tried hard to remember today what things he talked about and blow me, I couldn't remember anything he said. He certainly was very fascinating and humorous and I do remember sitting next to Tilda Swinton and some of their children. I also remember she had a phone call, they all upped and left and then a wee while later the daughter ran in and up to the stage carrying a note to her father, which he read and then said 'Alright' and she ran out again. I love things like that.
I also saw him on one of my jaunts to charity shops in Inverness. He was doing the same.
On my way home from town a crowd of youngsters came up to the crossing at the same time as me and one of the lads said, 'Everyone here, what food would you say you miss?' The lights changed and away they went. I thought that was such a weird question but there could only be one answer, to my mind. What food do you miss?
