War Poems

Thank you for all the comments and favourites for my blip yesterday of Poppies at The Tower. It was a quick mobile phone shot. I have also now done a BLOG of my afternoon planting in the moat for any who are interested.

I picked up a leaflet on the underground of War Poems.

Pile the bodes high at Austerlitz and Waterloo.
Shovel them under and let me work -
I am the grass; I cover all

And pile them high at Gettysburg
And pile them high at Ypres and Verdun,
Shovel them under and let me work.
Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?
Where are we now?

I am the grass.
Let me work.
