York Maze Hallowscream is based on the story of the CW Tornees Victorian Circus which met its gruesome end in a fire at Dunnington Lodge, the farm where York Maze is now based. Each Halloween the Circus Master and his troupe rise from the dead to entertain and terrify their audience.
New this year is ‘1873 - dare you go back?’, a brand new haunted house attraction. Travel back in time to the streets of Victorian York to locate the Circus Master and avert the series of catastrophic events that led to the fire.

York Maze Hallowscream features five live action scare attractions The Difference Engine, The Freak Show, Reincornation, Barnaggedon, 1873 – Dare you go back? (New for 2014) and the zombie themed after show bar, The Stumble Inn.
