Autumn

Today was an extra day of work- but not in school. We were on a geography field trip to Portsmouth!
We caught the hovercraft over to Southsea with 29 kids and spent the morning counting benches and bins, examining the seafront, looking round the war memorial, and then exploring southsea castle before going back and doing something similar along the sea front at Appley. The children were an absolute delight- well behaved and more importantly so full of interest and enthusiasm for everything! Many brought their own notebooks to record things as we went along, they asked lots of questions and were just so switched on. One of the nicest school trips I've been on, and bodes well for future trips and events! Luckily the weather stayed dry up till the very last 20 mins, so we did very well considering how wet and stormy it has been this week!
It was nice to be home by 4pm for once, although I must say I was completely worn out...
