Friday night is music night

Child a-bed, wife upstairs practising piano, Friday night is a good opportunity to practice all the instruments that I play badly! Tonight's bit of fun was a first attempt at Pink Floyd's High Hopes from The Division Bell album on ukulele, with the opening chimes on glockenspiel. And all this musical joy was interrupted by my musical first loves, Electric Light Orchestra, ELO, in concert on BBC4 tv. A concert from last month in Hyde Park, Jeff Lynne's first ELO gig for 24 years, I think he said. And it sounds magnificent, with the BBC Concert Orchestra on stage too. The inner teenage music fan in me is glowing!
