Hello Ducky - the full circle
Back where we started eight days ago - almost the same view.
Today C and Mr D caught the ferry to Hawes End, then walked to Catbells. They then followed the ridge to High Spy, followed by Dale Head where they then dropped down to Honister Slate Mine. From here they caught the bus back to Keswick (accompanied by our "boys").
Meanwhile, whilst they were messing about, Mrs D and I visited the Lakeland Pencil Factory, swiftly followed by a visit to the brewery (as opposed to a Brewery Visit) then to the Orange Square to partake of lunch.
I don't know what the lads and boys were messing about at, but I had only a short time to wait before they arrived back on a No. 77 bus - a first for Hector and Ziggy, going on a bus. I think C had been on a bus only once before and forgot to pay for Mr D until they came to dismount at Keswick (is "dismount" what you do to get off a bus?).
I didn't have many photos at all from today, but took this one this evening after we (the Royal "we" that is) had taken the awning down prior to tonight's rain and ready for our return home tomorrow. I have got one of the largest pencil in the world, but a photo does not do it justice!
We've had a fantastic week. great friends and fabulous weather - what more could you wish for?
Oh yes, on our way back this evening we had to pose for a photo shoot with some Chinese students who were lovely. I forgot totally to practise my miserable bit of Mandarin on them.
