Margate

We've had a lovely first day of our long weekend - the weather was kind and we had a great lunch in(believe it or not) a Polish-Lithuanian restaurant in Margate.

Then a walk along the beach, followed by a visit to the Turner Contemporary Museum of Art - Jeremy Deller's Venice Biennale exhibition was on show: English Magic. It's utterly brilliant, as is the gallery and it's staff. It was hard to drag ourselves away.

We're now ensconced in our Tower for two, courtesy of the Landmark Trust. It's an utterly beguiling structure and so cosy. Paul is cooking a celebratory biryani as I sip champagne in front of a roaring fire. Bliss.
