Another enormous pile of clippings produced but the garden looks about twice the size it did when we started. Remarkably there are shoots and buds appearing all over the place, on the ground under the pergola where sunlight is penetrating again, on stems of the clematis that I'd convinced myself would die back as a result of our savage pruning. Even the wisteria which I'd thought had gorn before is putting out shoots and looking quite vigorous

I'm not sure we'll be getting much of a display of lowers from the montana next year but at least when it does flower the flowers should be below head height
