A Livlihood Long Gone
I pass this sad glass monument to long gone prosperity most days and often wonder who decided the work too tough, the hours too long, the return too small, the banks too greedy, the years too many.... The work of generations to build it up..... The needs of the few uninterrupted by the needs of a peasant farmer, blackened, gnarled hands from green tomatoes, broken nails, sons emigrating for work...and good land lying idle. Sometime I despair....Just saying
