Chinoiserie

Had a mooch round a really cool shop today selling oriental-style furnishings; gorgeous lacquer and inlaid mother-of-pearl, marquetry and finely-painted furniture and all kinds of decorative items. Times like this I wish I were starting out again with a brand-new first home to decorate and furnish. Not to everyone's taste perhaps but I love that stuff, and would happily take just about everything in that shop. Made do with a huge paper fan instead.

It's the weekend and I've lots of cultural stuff planned. Hope it's a good one for you all too.
