The Lemonade Factory - Derelict Thursday
This used to be Hoyes Soft Drinks factory, a substantial brick multispan building with some quite nice Edwardian architecture. It was demolished in 2007 when the company moved. I'm guessing that the intention was to build houses on the site. But then the 2008 crash followed ... and that hasn't happened. Around 2010 notices went up on the site saying that it was going to be turned into a car wash ... but that hasn't happened. The site is still there decaying gently. If you put your ear to the screen you can just make out the soft hiss of a bottle of Ice Cream Soda being opened, with the low rumble of Buddleia crumbling the brickwork in the background.
My first derelict Thursday entry.
