Past and Present

Today has been reasonably fine, with periods of bright warm sunshine, so amid many interruptions I have actually been out in the garden for a while. Despite the weather this is somewhat depressing and I was recently looking at a picture showing how it used to be. I took some pictures of our pond and decided to use one of these to compare with the picture Mrs GOG took from the same location on the 15 October 2011. However, Mrs GOG took some pictures from the same location as she had taken the original picture from and I decided to use one of these instead. Today’s picture shows the present mess that the pond area of our garden is in, after our sacked builder and his friend had tidied things up! The link shows what this looked like at the same time of year, three years ago, before any tidying had taken place. What cannot be seen in this picture is the massive quantity of brick rubble and concrete, now covered with weeds and grass, that are in amongst what was pristine top soil.
