Waste Management
Dull, overcast and showery day.
I had to go down to the Recycling area of the City and saw this large Plant machinery. It is the Dundee City Council Waste Management area - where they incinerate all the rubbish which cannot be recycled.
The Council is highly regarded in the field of waste management, however in order to comply with the measures laid out in the Zero Waste Plan, existing systems and facilities will need to be expanded upon and new ones adopted.
Integral to the future of municipal waste management in the city will be the continued utilisation of DERL, the existing Waste-To-Energy plant at Baldovie. The plant uses latest technology to generate electricity from the incineration of waste that can be fed back into the national grid.
It has to be in all our interests that recycling increases and schemes such as this continue to develop.
All being well our replacement car should arrive this afternoon and we will be off to Mull in the morning. There certainly won't be any wifi in the Caravan and I don't know if I will find any locations. However, I should be able to upload phone pics but I doubt if I will be able to do any commenting during the week.
Many thanks for all your kind words of support after the accident.
