A tough little tree.

Success today finding Redwing today, a single one close to home but not close enough to count for my BTO Garden Birdwatch records. a quick scout around late morning found c50 again only briefly as they were disturbed by a Buzzard rising up from the trees.

A walk this afternoon with lots of birds about but no more Redwing or any Fieldfare yet. Unless the bird sits quite still I'm not good at photographing it even in good light so today's photo is this amazing tree I came across when leaving the path to walk through the wood to see over a dry stone wall at the view. It's not difficult see which way the prevailing wind blows, which it was doing this afternoon so didn't hang around long.

This view is looking south which is the direction 3 possible Ring Ouzels were flying, migrating south for the winter, leaving us to the cold winds and rain.
