Pont du Gard, south of France

The Pont du Gard is an Ancient Roman aqueduct, built in the first century AD to carry water to the city of Nîmes. When the Roman empire fell, the water conduits were no longer maintained, but the structure became a useful bridge and so was preserved.
Now it is a great tourist attraction....
