The murder of Dorian Gray?

I was cycling along the Union Canal to a meeting at our Edinburgh office when I came across this slightly unsettling burned out picture frame. I am swithering between someone destroying some very bad art and someone having murdered Dorian Gray by burning the picture in his attic.
