Focus on Female

The feud continues. The kookaburras claim first rights to the feeding table in my garden ~ the magpies claim it's their....always has been, always will be.

So, when Mr and Mrs Magpie sat at the table enjoying a romantic dinner together, who should land right in the midst of their meal, but King Kookaburra himself......

The romantic couple were not impressed. They both tilted their heads back, and told him in no uncertain terms that this table was already occupied ~ so back of buddy (or words to that effect....I don't want to shock anyone with the language that they really used!)

The camera has decided to focus on the female maggie here, she has a blend of white and pale grey feathers on the back of her neck, while her husband is completely white around the neck.

Together, their chorus of bad language a chortling song had King Kookaburra flying off into the wild green yonder, leaving them both to finish their meal, uninterrupted.

It just goes to show, kookaburras can be so romantic. ;)
