Ortakoy, Istanbul

Flying visit to Ortakoy this afternoon, with new Art teacher colleague and his wife, ostensibly to buy stuff for the Art Studios (which we did) but also to show them the local Aladdin's cave of Poundland shops/dollar stores (I am bi-lingual - UK and US English!) that sell various life enhancing items such as transparent plastic storage boxes, stick-on coat hooks, cheap-o wall clocks, cooking pots and pans, crockery, potato peelers, table covers and all that stuff that you never knew you needed, in a gloriously warm and sunny mid-October Istanbul. No, today's photo is not a selfie (!!) but was taken while waiting for a taxi to take us and our goodies, home.

One year ago today was one of the nicest days I ever spent with you Dad and I cannot let this day go by without saying how very, very much I love and miss you each and every day. It hurts.
