As a Newt

Another early blip for me! Found this little fellow on the back porch step as I put Bea out for the last call just before midnight. It was very chilly at that time and I was unsure whether it had succumbed to exposure! Wanting to give it every chance I popped it into an ice cream tub (safe from feet and paws) and left him in the kitchen overnight. I was very pleased to see him exploring the tub when I got up this morning, after a very quick shot and the girls secured after their breakfast, I released him and when I checked 10mins he had made off. Hope he finds a warm safe place to hibernate. He was about 3" long and that and his colour make me think he is a "Palmate" Newt, unless someone knows better ;)
