October word of the day -wood

Unusually in such a hot sunny place, wood is a major design feature of the hotel we stay in.

Wooden floors in the bar areas and restaurants (okay maybe that bit isn't too unusual) but the terraces are separated by wooden partitions and shaded by wooden canopies. Someone has a busy job during the closed season treating all that wood!

With the heat retained in the wood, when it rained (15 mins then the sun came back even hotter!) it smelt lovely.
