Yesterdays rain was probably welcomed by the team at Ottobeuren Golf Club as it's been quite dry for some weeks. Went to the golf course in the hope of seeing Jürgen to apologise for still not getting him some information - disobedient daughter to blame but she has been very busy of late.
The walk means going over normal fields and then, with no signs other than "Beware of flying golf balls", one is on the course. The second we hit this invisible border, Flash refused to move another step. At that point not a golfer or machine in sight. Took ages to persuade him to go further and we didn't manage to get far before I had to give up.
Flash is simply hyper, hyper sensitive and cannot stand the noise produced by golf clubs striking balls. It is just over 6 months since we last went for a walk there and he still had this saved in his memory bank.
Blip was taken at the furthest point. One of Jürgens colleagues at work. We turned back and Flashed dragged me home at top speed. Think we have to delete the golf course from our list.
Angie took the opportunity to get home early (18:00) and managed a good ride out with the dogs before it got too dark.
An aside - on last nights main TV news, the last report was about the UK and the subsequent handover to the weather lady was "is the rain coming from the UK?" Answer was No and then a defense of UK weather. There is a lot less rain in London (600 liters/pa) than Rome (900 liters/pa) something I have tried to convince the Germans of for years. Sadly the weather lady then went on to say the problem is just London has nearly 150 rain days compared to 75 in Rome.(short bit of information. Saw our postman today for the first time since he returned from a longish holiday in northern Scotland. He praised EVERYTHING - the weather, the scenery, the people, the accomodation EVEN the food! He plans to try out Ireland next.
Jürgen - will keep on trying!
