SPRINGTIME:
Without a shadow of doubt, this is my favourite Rhododendron AUGUSTINII. It is not big & flashy like some of my large leaf ones, but it is the colour in the garden I find so appealing. It's habit of growth is compact & upright; this one you'll find at the bottom of the garden by the main road. Further up, in the middle, I have grouped together 7 of them which I refer to, as my blue corner. Through the years I have been under planting with 'Amethyst' hyacinths, a very pretty, mid blue. Great was my annoyance 2 years ago to find the yearly purchased amethyst turned out to be purple ones. It is still a pretty corner though. That's a flagpole on the right. I'll run the flag up when you come to see me !
