Modern Art Gallery

No sign of teenage life this morning, so No 3 and I slipped off to the movies (again- thanks to Tesco Clubcard vouchers!) to see the slapstick 'Alexander and the terrible, horrible, No Good, Very Bad day'. Very entertaining, and as an homage to my sister in Oz who often goes alone to the movies on her days off, -Jinty - I even bought a nice coffee!

This afternoon I had some time by myself (I should have been food shopping) and I nipped into my FAVOURITE guilty secret - the Modern Art Gallery. There is always something new to see.

Charles Avery really caught my eye today with his 'Island Life' series. Stunning pen and ink sketches of his fictional island. Every figure had a character and left an impression. I was going to buy a few small postcards of his work, but you had to see it in its enormity to appreciate the craft.

A great wee escape - I can highly recommend !
