Waterpainting

K had the use of a car for work this coming week so we were able to drive out to Whitmure organic farm near West Linton. I love this place, from the wonderful shop and cafe to the well cared for animals to the spectacular views. Whenever I go down south of Edinburgh I always think we should take a holiday here for a change instead of the highlands, the Borders and the Lothians have so much to offer but I most often overlook it when choosing a place to go in Scotland. Anyway I took many photos of these lovely views and a few of the characters in the farmyard but it was this photo that I liked the most. It makes me think of Monet's waterlily paintings, all those dark reflections juxtaposed against the bright flecks of grass and burnt orange leaves floating on the surface. I guess that's why I keep taking photographs, I'm still surprised sometimes by the result and that keeps me going!
