The light at the end of the lane

The work that started the other day is ongoing. They've left bits of pipes all over the place and dug up huge bits of pavements.

Apparently it's water pipes being renewed. And work is to be done at night, to minimise disruption. But I think 4 huge lorries and several vans parked all day is disruption already.
