Oxfam bookshop
A quick snap of the charity bookshop where I volunteer one afternoon a week. I chose to work there because I think Oxfam do great work, I wanted to meet people in Cheltenham and I wanted to keep up my awareness of books after having owned my own bookshop in Essex for 7 years.
It's a wonderful big space, we get interesting and varied donations every day and thanks to generous customers and a team of 50 volunteers the stock is continually changing. We sell books, stamps, coins, music and DVDs as well as Oxfam's own product range of food and gifts.
I was delighted to see a poster today which stated that the Cheltenham shop raised more than £50,000 for the charity last financial year (after shop costs). What a great achievement and I feel chuffed to have played a small part.
