Back to the Future

Today we visited friends from our distant past.

First, it was my former boss at a humanitarian aid organization. I had not seen him in at least 15 years. Although we have taken different routes, our careers are once again crossing paths. He has a son near Bob's age and the two boys were instantly best friends. It was fantastic to pick up an old friendship and watch a new one develop.

On our way home, we stopped at the indoor flea market where James used to buy comic books when he was in high school and college. He wondered if Jay, the comic book seller, would still be there. Indeed he was! Jay recognized James right away, despite the fact that it was also probably 15 years since they had last seen each other. Jay was kind enough to pose for this photograph and to give Bob his first comic book.

It was a great day.
