Tea Party Time

Today I "threw" a mini tea party as a goodbye gift to a wonderful woman I met while doing my Y early morning swims. I guess I've now known her for a couple years just seeing each other mostly at the pool. But she is also a good friend of an ole bus driver friend of mine who is on the left here--Irene. Irene threw a grandmother shower for me and made the baby Z a beautiful quilt. So it only made sense to have them both over to share tea, a good chin wag and send Marilyn--on the right --off to her new home in Utah. One of her daughters lives there and she and her husband want to be closer to the daughter they feel will look after them if need be. I whipped up some scones and had Big R's jams--raspberry, blackberry and amaretto peach to dab on them--plus lemon curd too and some herbal berry tea.

Walked the hooligans on a long walk in the pm just before the huge rains came---now it's pouring outside....fall is definitely here and the leaves will come down tonight in droves! Ugh Back to early morning swim tomorrow and stricter eating again! Portland back blips begin here!
