Fine chap

There has been a lot of regeneration of Newtown, an area of downtown Joburg that I&S will no doubt remember.

The latest addition is a multi billion Rand development of a fantastic pedestrian area that has a combination of strip and formal retail malls with a gym, cinemas, music rooms, restaurants and hotel.

The developers have combined the old with the new with the protection and inclusion of a Victorian public toilet and covered walkways that have tin roofs and the decoration of "brookie lace".

There is a Victorian railway station not far away that is rumored to be the next in line for a revamp. I hope so.
